James Wild is a coach, applied researcher, and performance consultant who integrates strength and conditioning, biomechanics, skill acquisition, and motor learning principles to address complex sports performance and injury-related challenges. Over the past 20 years, he has worked with coaches and athletes across all levels, including medal-winning teams and athletes at major international competitions. Currently, James serves as the Lead for Research & Development and Speed Consultant for the Harlequins senior men’s rugby team. He is also a Senior Lecturer in Skill Acquisition and Applied Sport Science at the University of Surrey. James holds a PhD in the biomechanics and motor control of sprint acceleration in team sport athletes. He is the author of Strength Training for Speed and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in leading scientific journals
