Improving transfer of training to increase ball release speed in cricket

Across the different formats of crickets, fast bowlers (FB) face the most intense physical demands. [1,2] A successful delivery entails a sequence of movements within four phases: the run-up, pre-delivery stride, delivery stride, and follow-through. Each phase places unique horizontal and vertical forces on the FB, with ground reaction forces (GRF) up to 9.5 times  bodyweight during front foot contact at the crease prior to ball release.
