Craig Davis is currently an Applied Football Research PhD student working at Brentford FC Academy in conjunction with Cardiff Metropolitan University. His research investigates how exposure to load interacts with growth and maturation to influence the development of physical fitness, match performance, and injury occurrence at the club, while also assisting in the applied delivery of the performance strategy. Craig’s interest in this area began when he was an academy player at a then-Premier League club. This inspired him to complete his BSc in Sport & Exercise Science at Cardiff Metropolitan University, Craig then completed his MSc in Advanced Sport Performance Science at Swansea University, where he provided a contextual analysis of the physical-tactical match performance demands of academy players. Craig has gained experience coaching a range of athletes at Youth Physical Development Centre (based at Cardiff Metropolitan University), and spent a short time as an Athletic Development Coach at Millfield School.
