Billy is a performance scientist and conditioning coach currently working at Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League. He has more than 10 years of experience in multiple professional team sports and held various high performance roles at South Sydney Rabbitohs, St George Illawarra Dragons and Cricket Australia. He was previously an Honorary Fellow at University of Wollongong and currently provides guest lecturers at Australian Catholic University. Billy’s expertise lies in using performance tracking systems to aid in the process of planning and coaching training sessions in running-based team sports.
Billy has completed an undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sport Science and two postgraduate research degrees (Masters and PhD) in Applied Sport Science. He has published 18+ articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, been cited more than 2,500 times and serves as a reviewer to several scientific journals. Billy’s research and practical experience has primarily focused on workload monitoring and management in relation to physical performance and injury risk mitigation.
He is an accredited Sport Scientist and High Performance Manager with Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA).
