Presentation description

Effective load management requires translating complex information into meaningful decisions that improve performance. This presentation explores how practitioners can select high-quality metrics, build practical monitoring systems, forecast athlete workload, and communicate data in ways that genuinely influence coaching behaviour while maintaining an athlete-centred approach.

Learning objectives

  • Develop meaningful athlete monitoring systems using valid, actionable workload metrics.
  • Evaluate how reporting, forecasting, and communication influence coaching decisions and athlete performance.
  • Apply practical strategies to balance data-driven decision making with the realities of elite sporting environments.
