Presentation description
Strength and conditioning (S&C) coaches often get so fixated on the “strength” part of their role and neglect the “conditioning” part of their role. This video from Nathan Heaney, A.K.A The Conditioning Consultant details why aerobic training can help all other aspects of training as well as how its best trained. He outlines the positives and potential negatives of different methods of aerobic training including continuous training, tempo (both long and short), high intensity interval training, repeat sprint and sprint interval training and small sided games.
By the end of this presentation you will be able to better devise an appropriate team sport conditioning programmes as well as understand the nuance and intricacy associated with conditioning programmes. To do this Nathan will also present a pre-season case study comparing HIIT and small sided games.
