Jack Sharkey

Football Australia

Jack Sharkey works in elite international football, currently supporting the Australian Women’s National Teams programme. His role centres on integrating physical performance and sports science within the wider coaching and medical framework, with a focus on availability, preparation, and consistency across senior and pathway environments. Over the past decade he have worked in and led performance departments within Premier League, UEFA Champions League and World Cup settings across England, France and Australia. Much of Jack’s work involves aligning preparation with the demands of tournament football, supporting club–country transitions, and helping athletes manage the realities of condensed schedules and travel. He has a particular interest in female athlete performance and in building structures that allow players to perform repeatedly under pressure. Those environments have shaped a straightforward approach to performance: clear standards, good collaboration, and ensuring players are physically prepared, robust, and ready to compete at the level the game now demands.
