Denny Noor

AZ Alkmaar

Denny Noor is a performance scientist at AZ Alkmaar, responsible for leading the club’s performance and training data strategy at first-team level. Over the past seven years, he has worked across both the first-team and youth academy, coordinating the long-term athlete development pathway from foundation through to professional development phases. In his current role, Denny oversees the collection, analysis, and interpretation of first-team player’s performance data, with a focus on translating this information into practical insights for coaches, medical staff, and performance practitioners. Central to his approach is aligning technology with performance needs, and building robust, evidence-based systems that support informed decision-making. Denny brings a strong research background to his applied practice, having completed his PhD at the Saarland University/University of Technology Sydney. His research examined the monitoring of load and recovery within national team contexts to better support the club-to-country transition and aligning preparation with the demands of tournament football.
