Carmen Colomer

Gold Coast Titans

Carmen is the Sports Science Coordinator at the Gold Coast Titans Rugby League Club, where she leads the integration of data, research, and applied practice to enhance athlete performance, recovery, and decision-making within a high-performance environment.

Prior to joining the Titans, Carmen worked as Director of Sports Science for the Philadelphia 76ers (NBA), where she oversaw training load monitoring, and recovery strategies to support athletes through the demands of an NBA season. Her experience across professional sport also includes roles with the Melbourne Rebels, ACT Brumbies, and Brisbane Broncos, as well as serving as Performance Lead at Perth Glory Football Club and completing a physiology traineeship at the Australian Institute of Sport.

Carmen holds a PhD in Complex Systems Analysis, with research examining collective tactical behaviours and performance patterns in elite rugby union. Her work focuses on translating complex systems science into practical applications for sport, including areas such as tactical analysis, conditioning prescription using Anaerobic Speed Reserve, and performance system design. She is also the host of The Behaviour Gap podcast, where she explores how behaviour, incentives, and system design shape decision-making and performance in elite sport.
