Adriano is a Sports Scientist and Strength and Conditioning Coach currently working at the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL). Adriano has worked across sports science and medicine departments in rugby union (15s and 7s), basketball, field hockey, and AFL. Adriano’s PhD research focuses on modelling relationships between training and performance in professional Australian Football, by investigating the utility of embedded athlete monitoring techniques to infer fitness and fatigue responses in AFL athletes, with emphasis on physiological and neuromuscular response markers. Adriano is passionate about applying scientific principles and enquiry to drive physical adaptation, with the ultimate goal of maximising training quality and athlete availability in team sports.
