Henry Barrera is the Director of Athletic Performance for the University of Alabama Men’s Basketball program, joining the Crimson Tide in 2022. Since arriving in Tuscaloosa, Barrera has helped Alabama establish itself as one of the nation’s premier basketball programs. Over the past four seasons, the Crimson Tide has reached four consecutive NCAA Tournaments, advanced to three straight Sweet 16s, two Elite Eights, and the program’s first-ever Final Four in 2024, while also capturing an SEC regular-season championship and SEC Tournament title. Prior to Alabama, Barrera played a key role in one of the most successful eras in Liberty University history, helping the Flames compile 166 wins, capture three consecutive ASUN regular-season and tournament championships, earn three NCAA Tournament appearances, and record the program’s first NCAA Tournament victory. Before Liberty, Barrera served as a Performance Training Specialist at Nike World Headquarters, where he developed athlete training content for premier initiatives including Jordan Brand’s Terminal 23 in New York and The Hangar in Los Angeles. Known for his integrated approach to basketball performance, Barrera holds master’s degrees in Exercise Science & Human Performance and Education and is widely recognized for his passion for innovation, and athlete development.
