Sarah Smith has been the VP of Medical and Performance at Angel City FC for the past 3 seasons. After working for the Canadian Soccer Association for the last 10 years as the Head of Medical for the Women’s National Programs and then transitioning to overseeing the Medical Department of the Men’s National Programs – this role has taken her to multiple FIFA World Cups and Olympic Games. While with the senior programs – she led the Medical team to support the team to a Bronze (2016) and Gold (2020) Olympic medal. In addition, was the first Woman to lead a Medical team in a Men’s FIFA World Cup in 2022. As a Sport Physical Therapist by training – she is passionate about elite rehabilitation and systematic alignment of a high performance department. She is active in national initiatives elevating standards of management of professional athletes and development of women in sport leadership initiatives.
