Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Dave Hamilton enters his seventh season with the Buccaneers, now as Bice President of Performance Science. Promoted from his previous role as director, Hamilton is tasked with developing a sports science program that promotes athlete health and and sustained success for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His responsibilities include fostering collaboration across the team’s strength and conditioning, medical treatment, and nutrition departments. He also develops systems to ensure continuous communication and knowledge sharing among all performance departments. Hamilton was a key member of the support staff for Tampa Bay’s Super Bowl LV championship team. Before joining the Buccaneers, Hamilton served as the assistant athletic director for applied health and performance science at Penn State University from 2016-19. In this role, he established and led a program focused on optimizing the performance of over 800 collegiate athletes. His career also includes a three-year stint as the director of performance science for USA Field Hockey, where he earned the prestigious Doc Councilman Award for his innovative training programs. Additionally, as the head of strength and conditioning for Great Britain and England’s women’s field hockey teams, he helped secure bronze medals at the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 London Olympic Games. Hamilton holds a bachelor’s degree in sports science from DeMontfort University and a master’s degree in exercise science from Edith Cowen University.
