Matt Taberner is a passionate, innovative, and highly experienced practitioner with circa 20 years’ experience within the English Premier League and National Basketball Association delivering and coordinating performance support and the rehabilitation of injured athletes as part of an inter-disciplinary approach.    Matt graduated from the University of Northampton in 2006 with a 1st class honours’ degree in Sport and Exercise Science, and then when onto complete an MSc in Sports Nutrition from Loughborough University in 2007. In 2020, he completed a Professional Doctorate in Applied Sport & Exercise Science from Liverpool John Moore’s University (Thesis entitled: ‘Constructing a framework for Return-to-Sport in elite football), with his research nominated for the prestigious British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM) PhD academy awards.   Matt holds both CSCS and RSCC*E with the National Strength & Conditioning Association alongside Chartered Association of Sport & Exercise Science High Performance Sport Accreditation. Matt has published several research articles within the BJSM, JOSPT, Aspetar Sports Medicine Journal, BMJ Open Sport & Exercise Medicine, and Science and Medicine in Football. He is recognised world-wide for his impact on physical preparation and return-to-sport after injury and is the creator of the ‘control-chaos continuum’.
