Now entering his 4th decade in Performance Sciences, Dave Carolan have worked across multiple elite sports & environments. From Premier League Football (Norwich City, Ipswich Town, Aston Villa), EFL (Birmingham City, Derby County, Stoke City, Millwall) International Rugby, Olympic Sports and through to grassroots sport too, Dave supports athletes, coaches & colleagues to excel in what they do.
With ~1300 competitive Professional football matches under his belt, he now utilises that knowledge & experience to lead strategy, guiding & advising practitioners, organisations & companies in maximising performance processes and application. A regular presenter at conferences and events (Training Ground Guru ‘Live’, Catapult, Soccer Science, The FA etc), Dave curiosity has kept him at the leading edge of performance innovation.
He has worked with a number of sports tech companies bringing this to our industry. Dave also brought the i-Drills into existence which became the official FA Coach’s App for session planning, reaching #1 Sports App in over 50 countries and Top 5 in 85. He has tutored on the UEFA ‘Pro’ and ‘A’ Licenses and is an external expert with FIFA on a number of projects. And most recently Dave was invited to be a member of the FIFPRO High Performance Advisory Network contributing an expert statement to the 2024-2025 FIFPRO Workload Report Dave has also represented Ireland in Rugby Union (U18), qualified as a Sailing Instructor (aged12!) and was in the first cohort of S&Cs to gain the NSCA CSCS in the UK. He is married with 3 Children.
