Rich Buchanan is Performance Director at Zone7, a Silicon Valley artificial intelligence company that analyses athlete data to forecast injury risk in professional sports. Rich supports the company’s rapid growth in the professional sports market with a special focus on global football clubs. Rich is a qualified Chartered Physiotherapist with an MSc in Rehabilitation, he has multiple sports performance certifications such as the EXOS Performance Specialist certification, UEFA ‘A’ and Youth ‘A’ coaching licence alongside leadership and management qualifications.
Rich has experience applying his knowledge in Medical, Police, and Military environments, however his primary experience has been in professional football environments. Rich has held positions such as Performance Director at Swansea City FC, Performance & Medical Auditor for the Professional Game Academy Audit Company which is a regulatory arm of the Premier League, English Football League and Football Association as well as operating in multiple consultancy roles for international elite sporting organisations.
