Nathan Griffith

AFC Bournemouth

Nathan currently works within the academy at AFC Bournemouth, where he is responsible for the physical development of the Under 18 players. His interests are centred around athletic development, with a particular focus on improving the specific movement demands regularly performed within training and match play. Alongside this, Nathan has a strong interest in designing contextualised drills and collaborating closely with coaches to enhance players’ decision making abilities, while still maintaining speed qualities and technical execution. Another key area of interest for Nathan is deceleration and its role within training design. Before focusing on enhancing force production, he believes it is important to first ensure athletes can effectively control and tolerate the forces they produce, allowing for greater stability, movement efficiency, and injury resilience.
