Fraser McKinney

Fraser McKinney is the Lead of Rehabilitation at Southampton Football Club, where he oversees all rehabilitation protocols for injured players, focusing on guiding them from injury onset through to return-to-play. He joined the Saints in this role in 2021, bringing over a decade of experience in elite football environments. Prior to that, he worked in both club and private clinical settings, most notably with GB Basketball for six years in the leadup to the 2012 Olympic Games. This experience in particular is where Fraser developed his specialization in lower limb injuries, particularly foot and ankle injuries, by developing a strong grounding in both evidence-based practice and hands-on therapeutic interventions. Academically, Fraser completed two BSc’s – his first in Sports & Exercise Science with Biology at Nottingham Trent University, and his second in Physiotherapy at Sheffield Hallam University. Most latterly Fraser completed his studies with a Sports Physiotherapy MSc at Cardiff University.
