Lorna Sams runs her own business as a personal trainer. Her specialist interest lies in the management of chronic pain through the participation in exercise. She is a strong believer in both the physiological and psychological benefits of exercise.
Lorna holds a MSc in Applied Sport an Exercise Science and is currently building on her previous research through the Open University by investigating the effect of percussive therapy delivered by massage guns on perceptions of chronic musculoskeletal pain.
Lorna works as a Research Associate with Staffordshire University and has been involved in numerous research projects including the perception of the menstrual cycle, hormonal contraception and pregnancy in women’s football, and the impact of COVID -19 on physical activity changes among women and on women’s pregnancy and postpartum experiences.
